Police arrested a 35-year-old Turlock man on suspicion of shooting at and pistol-whipping a man over a dispute about the victim's girlfriend.
At 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers went to the victim's home at an undisclosed Turlock location and found that he had a laceration on his face, according to Sgt. Stephen Webb.
The victim told police that Andrew Ratliff had shot at him and pistol-whipped him. A witness in the area did report hearing one gunshot, Webb said.
Officers went to Ratliff's home in the 3000 block of Radford Way and arrested him on suspicion of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Webb said officers were serving a search warrant at Ratliff's home Tuesday morning.
A bomb squad was called out because investigators found what could have been "remnants" of bomb supplies. Webb, however, said no bomb was found.
