MEN ACCUSED OF LEWD CONDUCT: Tuolumne County sheriff's detectives in the past two weeks arrested five men suspected of engaging in sexual conduct or exposing themselves for sexual pleasure in public restrooms at Pioneer Park near Columbia, the Sheriff's Department announced Friday. Detectives received tips that the sexual conduct had been going on for several months. The small, public park on North Airport Road also is the site of a youth baseball field. According to the Sheriff's Department, men would meet at the park and conduct sexual acts with one another in the bathrooms and on the walking trails. The detectives discovered a Web site with men soliciting each other to meet at the park for sexual acts, said Lt. Dan Bressler, a sheriff's spokesman. Undercover detectives walked through the park about 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 and discovered two men committing a sexual act in the bathroom. Bressler said the stall has no door and the subjects were visible to anyone who walked in. The two men were arrested, but detectives returned and continued the undercover operation at various hours during the day and arrested three more men, Bressler said. Peter Michael Delaney, 40, of Sonora, Robert Lowell Jobe, 72, of Coulterville, and Larry Buchanan Tillery, 62, of Coulterville were arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct in public, disorderly conduct in or about a public bathroom and indecent exposure. George Lemar Roessler, 71, of Valley Springs and Robert Bruce Huckins, 70, of Sonora were arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct in public and indecent exposure. Bressler said all the charges are misdemeanors, and the men were cited and released.
