RECYCLING DOCUMENTARY TO AIR: The Modesto Junior College student-produced Pirate Television hour will air a documentary that focuses on recycling. The documentary was produced by MJC students. The recycling special will air Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Comcast public access Channel 26. "Rescuing Our Resources" is a 25-minute documentary dealing with the preservation of endangered natural resources by reducing consumption, reusing resources that already are compromised and recycling to eliminate the use and further depletion of precious resources. California's efforts in diverting trash from landfills and proactive use of recycled materials are explored during the documentary. Interviewees include state officials as well as Beverly McCullough, Modesto's recycling coordinator; Kathy Freitas, the city's compost facility secretary; Brent Boblitt of Epic Plastic; Myrtle Osner, an environmental activist; and Keith Highiet, manager of Modesto Junk.
