SUV SOUGHT IN HIT-AND-RUN: California Highway Patrol officers on Saturday were looking for the driver of a small, white sport utility vehicle that fled the scene of a crash that seriously injured a motorcycle driver and his passenger Friday in west Modesto. The motorcycle driver, Jesse Leyva, 51, and passenger David Leyva, 46, both of Modesto, suffered major injuries and were taken by ambulance to Modesto hospitals. Both men were wearing helmets and were thrown off the motorcycle, the CHP said. CHP officers described the SUV as possibly a Chevrolet S-10 Blazer with dark tinted windows, front-end damage including a broken grill, and a damaged front license plate frame. Officers said the frame is chrome with a personalized message on a red border, possibly a business name. Authorities ask anyone with information about this crash to call the Modesto-area CHP office at 545-7440.
