Maggie is the resident canine at Eve & Me in McHenry Village. "Our store has had a dog in our store daily for many years," Michelle Smith told The Bee. "It started with one of our employees bringing her Yorkie, Madison, to work with her. Having been recently widowed, she had no one to watch Madison during the day. Madison became our 'official' greeter. We then started to dog-sit another Yorkie belonging to another McHenry Village store owner. Millie became our second dog.
"Unfortunately, both our Millie and Maddie had to move. What's a store to do when a vacancy happens? We got our own doggie. Enter Maggie! She is a rescue dog and quietly greets our customers with a gentle sniff of approval."
Having a full-time canine companion has been a blessing on so many levels. I can't imagine a day without her.
