Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Camp Taylor Kissing Booth has been at Vintage Faire Mall the past few days and remains open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Located at the mall’s center court, the booth provides candy kisses in exchange for donations of any amount made to Camp Taylor, a local nonprofit organization that offers free, medically supervised camp programs for children with heart disease and their families. The Modesto-based camp, which has purchased the county’s former Honor Farm property on Grayson Road to build a permanent camp facility, was founded by Kimberlie Gamino. It is named for her son Taylor, now 21, who was born with hypoplastic right heart syndrome. The camp has a high-profile supporter in 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whose parents lost two infant boys to heart disease. To learn more about the camp, go to www.kidsheartcamp.org.
