The second annual Valley Real Estate and Economics Conference will be held June 4 at Modesto Centre Plaza. Last year's event attracted 520 real estate and building professionals and community leaders.
Two industry leaders, Calvin Bright of Bright Development and Ken Diehl of the Diehl Co., will be honored with lifetime achievement awards at the conference.
Craig Lewis, president of Prudential California Realty, will be the keynote speaker.
Conference sessions will include a panel discussion on the residential market and opportunities created by the housing downturn.
Commercial real estate will be covered by a panel, which will cover the economy's current and future impact on business properties.
Economic development and what it takes to attract and keep employers will be debated by a panel of local business executives. Land development plans and opportunities will be the focus of another panel.
The financial markets, including real estate lending, also will be discussed.
A panel of seasoned real estate investors will offer advice about investing in commercial real estate.
Real estate professionals who attend can earn seven hours of continuing education credit from the California Department of Real Estate.
The conference will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m and includes breakfast and lunch. Admission is $60, and registration can be done with a credit card by calling 521-8111.
