The doors creaked open Friday afternoon on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stanislaus County’s Haunted Museum.
Seven themed rooms at the McHenry Museum in downtown Modesto awaited school-age children and their families. The event, continuing Saturday night and Oct. 28-30 from 5 to 8:30 p.m., features costumed performers, Halloween crafts, a pumpkin roll and a variety of games.
The goal, according to the clubs, is to “entertain but not overly frighten the children.”
Tickets are $5 per person, with children under 5 admitted free. They are available at the McHenry Museum gift shop, 1402 I St.; the Boys & Girls Clubs office, 422 McHenry Ave.; the Modesto Parks & Recreation Department, 1010 10th St., Suite 4400; and F&M Bank, 3001 McHenry Ave. They also will be sold at the door and can be purchased online at bit.ly/HauntedMuseum_2015Tickets.
