Two men who died in separate solo-vehicle crashes over the weekend were identified Monday by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
Isaac Lucio, 42, of Patterson was believed to have been under the influence when his Honda Civic veered off of Highway 33 and crashed into a drainage ditch south of the town of Crows Landing Saturday night.
A witness saw Lucio running from the car and officers found him near the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
While waiting for emergency personnel to respond, Lucio lost consciousness. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, where he died.
On Saturday morning Steve Vieira, 23, of Los Banos, was driving south of Gustine on Henry Miller Avenue when he turned his car left, driving across the opposite lane and into the shoulder. The car turned and hit a utility pole. The car then spun again and struck a second pole, crossed the road and overturned.
Vieira was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. He was taken by air ambulance to a Modesto hospital, where he died.
