Five cars involved, but no injuries in downtown Modesto wreck

Five cars were damaged in downtown Modesto on Wednesday afternoon after police said a driver ran a red light at J and 14 streets and hit another car in the intersection that caused a chain reaction resulting in damage to at least three more cars.
The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. when police believe the driver of and sports utility vehicle ran a red light in the intersection and collided with a black car, which sideswiped an Acura that was in the eastbound lane of J Street.
The black car then was propelled across the westbound lanes of J Street where it hit a parked BMW, which was pushed into the back of a pickup truck parked in front of it.
The driver who witnesses say ran the red light apparently continued west on J and and then parked at 13th Street.
No one was injured in the wreck.
Police closed J between 14th and 13th while investigating the accident.
