There’s such a strong basketball background in the Merced area, from legends like coach (Vince) Clemons on down to Allen Huddleston, who was one of the best competitors I’ve had the privilege of coaching. I look forward to meeting some past, present, and future Bulldogs in Merced on Thursday night.”
The Bulldogs play San Jose State on Wednesday night and host Colorado State on Saturday at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State is currently 17-8 overall and 7-5 in the Mountain West Conference. Fresno State is trying to advance to the postseason for the third consecutive season after playing in the NCAA Tournament in 2016 and the NIT last season.
Joining Terry will the the voice of Bulldogs, Paul Loeffler, who graduated from Los Banos High.
“If I think back a quarter-century and remember being a Los Banos Tiger, it would have been a pretty big deal to have a Division I coach who had been to the NCAA and NIT come to Merced County to hang out with us,” Loeffler said. “I know there are a lot of Bulldog fans between Le Grand and Livingston, from Dos Palos to Delhi, and we’d love to see them on Main Street in Merced on Thursday night.”
