Info: The Modesto Area Squad Club invites the public to a drive-thru dinner in support of minor league football player David Delgado of the Merced County Jets. Delgago suffered a spinal cord injury in a game against the Fresno Cen-Cal-So team on April 3. All proceeds of the dinner go to helping to pay medical expenses and recovery costs for Delgado. 40 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus State Baseball team was departing for the NCAA Division III championships to have been held in Marietta, Ohio. The Warriors were to fly from San Francisco to Pittsburgh, PA, then take another flight to Parkersburg, West Virginia and finally a short bus ride to Marietta. The team had a record of 32-18 going into the double elimination tournament and were to take on the host Marietta College who was the No. 1 ranked team in Division III, while Stanislaus was No. 16 nationally.
