Ed Fitzpatrick, ower of the Fitzpatrick Dealership Group that includes Valley BMW and Valley Lexus of Modesto, received the David. F. Mungenast Sr. lifetime achievement award, given to only one of 10,000 import dealers nationwide each year.
Fitzpatrick owns California’s largest African American-owned dealership group, which also includes Coliseum Lexus of Oakland. He’s chairman of the National Minority Auto Dealers Association, founder and president of the Toyota/Lexus Minority Dealers Association and chairman of the California New Car Dealers Association.
He has donated time and funds to California State University, Stanislaus; Shelter Cove Community Church; the Modesto Black Men and Women’s Association; the Junior Golf Association of Northern California; and the Modesto Gospel Mission.
RV dealer helps United Way
The United Way received $14,000 for community impact work from Best RV Center and its co-owners – brothers Naiel and Zee Amari. They donated $100 from every RV sold during a monthlong campaign. United Ways of Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Sacramento, Merced and Fresno counties will share the money because they represent the region where Best’s customers live.
The donation will go toward improving the education, health and financial independence of communities throughout the Valley.
