New Modesto Catholic parish finally gets a real church

Holy Family Catholic Church, the newest parish in the Stockton diocese, held its first Masses on Sunday in its new church at 4212 Dale Rd. in Modesto.

The parish, established in 2006, is made up of 675 families in north Modesto and Salida.

The congregation had been meeting in a school cafeteria and will be leasing the property for five years.
