A couple were displaced Saturday morning when a fire damaged their single-story house a few miles west of Salida, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported. The fire occurred about 10:15 a.m. at the home in the 4600 block of Dunn Road, between Kiernan Avenue and Bacon Road.
The accidental electrical fire started in the home's garage and spread through the attic, said Capt. Doug McCullough of the Salida Fire Protection District.
Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.
McCullough said the fire damage was limited to the attic space above the garage, the kitchen and the family room.
He said the fire caused an estimated $125,000 in structural damage to the home and $25,000 to its contents.
Ripon Consolidated Fire Protection District assisted in putting out the fire.
Red Cross officials helped the couple find a place to stay.
