Modesto

RETIRED PUBLIC EMPLOYEES LUNCH

DOCUMENTARY SHOWING

Info: The Stanislaus Association for the Education of Young Children will show "Where Do the Children Play?" The documentary examines how restrictive patterns of sprawl, congestion, and suburban development are affecting children's mental and physical health and development. The cost is $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

PILOTS PROGRAM AND MEETING

LITERACY TUTOR TRAINING

Info: The Stanislaus Literacy Center will hold a volunteer tutor orientation and training. The orientation will go over the basics of how the program works and the commitment involved with being a tutor. The training will cover the dynamics of teaching an adult and how to use the curriculum and other literacy materials provided free of charge to the tutor and the adult learner. SONS IN RETIREMENT MEETING
