UOP offers Medicare help

University of the Pacific pharmacy students will hold community meetings to help people on Medicare enroll in prescription drug plans. Free screenings for blood sugar, cholesterol and bone density also will be offered.

The students can assist seniors who speak Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Korean and other languages.

Bring your Medicare card and prescription medications.

Meetings will be Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Escalon Senior Center, 1854 Main St., and Nov. 24 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Casa de Modesto Retirement Center, 1745 Eldena Way, Modesto.
