Road Work: delays, detours for week ahead

• Pelandale Avenue is being widened from Dale Road to just east of McHenry Avenue. Delays could occur through mid-November.

• A seismic retrofit of the Shiloh Road bridge west of Modesto is under way and is expected to be finished in mid-January.

• Road grading work has started on the improvement and signalization project on State Route 219, or Kiernan Avenue, at Dale Road. Road work is progressing on the south side of the road, with traffic using the north side. Project completion is scheduled for January.

• H Street is being rebuilt from 17th Street to Scenic Drive and Burney Street. H will be closed to traffic from Scenic to 17th through mid-October. Completion is scheduled for November.

• Work continues on storm drain facility installations throughout the northern part of Keyes.

• The California Department of Transportation will pave, stripe, place pavement markers and work on signal lights on north- and southbound Highway 108, or McHenry Avenue, starting this week. Alternate lanes will be closed and motorists can expect five minute delays. The work will be done in the following locations: from Ninth and K streets to Granger Avenue, Wednesday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.; from Needham Street to Baker Way through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m; and Jones Street to Coralwood Road through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
