Dave Wilson Nursery, a Hickman-area business that grows and markets Floyd Zaiger's fruit varieties, will join the Stanislaus County Ag Hall of Fame in November.

The nursery, founded by Dave Wilson in 1938, has become one of the largest growers of deciduous fruit, nut and shade trees in California. It got involved with Zaiger's trees in 1966 and is his exclusive marketer in the United States.

Robert and Jane Woolley bought the Lake Road business in 1989.

The nursery has more than 3 million trees for commercial orchards and home gardens on about 1,500 acres. It employs about 120 people year-round and about 300 during peak production.

The induction will take place at the 12th annual Ag Hall of Fame Dinner, to be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Assyrian-American Civic Club in Turlock.

The dinner is a fund-raiser for the Ag Science Center, an interactive museum planned for the Modesto Junior College West Campus.

The hall inducted Zaiger in 2004.

Tickets are $125 per person or $1,250 for a table of 10. Get reservation and sponsorship information at 521-2902 or www.agsciencecenter.org.
