TID sets meeting on new power line

The Turlock Irrigation District will hold a public meeting Monday on a proposed power transmission line in the Ceres and Hughson areas.

The wires would run about 10 miles from Crows Landing Road at Grayson Road to Geer Road at Whitmore Avenue. The draft environmental impact report on the project will be discussed at the meeting.

It will be at 6 p.m. at the Hughson Community Center, 2307 Fourth St. More information, including the proposed route and six alternative segments, is at www.tid.com/power/currentprojects.
