STANISLAUS COUNTY AVOID THE 12

Info: The following cities are taking part in a Stanislaus County Avoid the 12 enforcement operation:

DUI/drivers licence checkpoint -- Friday, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Ceres.

DUI/drivers licence checkpoint -- Saturday, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., Turlock.

DUI saturation patrols -- Saturday, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., Turlock and Oakdale.

DUI saturation patrols -- Monday, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., Turlock and Newman.

ST. JOSEPH'S FUN RUN

When: Saturday. 8:15 a.m. one-mile start; 8:30 a.m., 5K start.

Where: St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road.

FREE FAMILY NIGHT MOVIE

VALLEY WINE AND FOOD EXPEDITION

MODESTO BOYS CHOIR AUDITIONS

Info: Open to all boys in first through 12th grades who like to sing. Auditions are held to determine vocal placement and ability to match pitch. First rehearsal of season two begins Sept. 14. Tuition is $150 per semester.
