Fire crews from across the region responded Sunday evening to a 150- to 200-acre forest fire burning near Mount Knight in Tuolumne County. The fire was in a remote area of the Stanislaus National Forest, deep inside the Middle Fork Stanislaus River Canyon, said U.S. Forest Service Patrol Capt. Jay Power. There are some residences in the area, mostly fishing cabins, he said. No structures were threatened as of Sunday evening, Power said. If conditions worsen, authorities could order evacuations. The fire started about 3:45 p.m.
