OAKDALE - A Saturday morning probation search helped Oakdale police find a stolen digital camera and landed a 34-year-old man in jail, police said.
Sgt. Keri Redd said officers found the digital camera when conducting a probation search about 9 a.m. in a house in the 1600 block of Winston Circle. A records search revealed that the camera had been reported stolen in 2007, Redd said.
The man in possession of the camera, later identified as Jason Zech, asked officers if he could have the camera's memory card, because it contained his photos, Redd said.
Officers reviewed the photos and found evidence of Zech engaging in sex with a minor, Redd said. Zech was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, sex with a minor, endangering a minor and other charges, Redd said.
