Modesto firefighters responded to a structure fire Sunday night in the 600 block of E. Hatch Road near Jim Way, about a half-mile east of Crows Landing Road.
The fire was in a vacant building and reported at 7:45 p.m., said battalion chief Hugo Patino.
Firefighters arrived at 7:50 p.m. and declared the blaze under control at 8:51 p.m., said Patino.
The California Highway Patrol controlled traffic in the area after residents drove over fire hose lines, said Patino.
A water main to several houses on nearby Olivero Road was reported broken after the fire, said Patino.
