Bands played throughout the day on two stages as the Modesto Blues Festival came to town Saturday. The free concert, the final event in Modesto’s month-long Graffiti Summer, rocked Mellis Park and the neighboring King-Kennedy Memorial Center. The headliners were the MoFo Party Band, which performs a mix of old-school Chicago blues and West Coast jump, and Highway 61, which performs high-energy blues. Other bands scheduled to play were Ron Hacker and the Hacksaws, Big Earl and the Cryin’ Shame, the Mercury Blues Band, Debbie Smith and the Blue Diamond Band, the Penetrators Blues Band and the Modesto All Stars.
