A group of Turlock residents with Iranian roots plans to hold a demonstration Friday against the Iranian government's crackdown on election protests in Tehran.
Robert Davood, an Iranian immigrant who lives in Turlock, said he and others were motivated to hold the demonstration when they saw videos of Iranian police shooting protesters.
"They are talking about freedom; they get shot and killed," said Davood, 39.
The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Monte Vista Avenue and Countryside Drive.
