19-year-old wounded in Modesto drive-by shooting

Modesto police are investigating a drive-by shooting in which a 19-year-old man was wounded in the leg.

The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. on Phillip Court, which is just northeast of McHenry and Tokay avenues.

Lt. Ron Cloward said multiple shots were fired and the 19-year-old's wound is not life threatening. The victim was taken to Doctors Medical Center.

Witnesses described the car as a blue or green sedan with shiny rims, possibly a Crown Victoria or similar vehicle, Cloward said.
