KEYES - A small fire broke out in a vacant house this morning, according to Keyes Fire Department battalion chief Erik Klevmyr.

The conflagration began in the "subfloor" of the home near the corner of Seventh Street and Jennie Avenue, Klevmyr said. Four trucks from the Keyes and Ceres fire departments were dispatched at 5:16 a.m. to contain the fire.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the blaze, which, according to Klevmyr, did not cause a lot of damage.
