DISCUSSION, ENDORSEMENT MEETING: The Republican Party of Stanislaus County Central Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Eichel Building, 118 W. Orangeburg Ave. The meeting will start with a reception and question-and-answer period with guest speaker George A. Petrulakis, a Modesto land-use attorney who will talk about elections, the duties of the mayor and proposed changes to the city charter. At 7:30 p.m., there will be an endorsement meeting. Any registered Republican who is a candidate for elective office on the November ballot may attend and request an endorsement. Republican candidates who are unopposed for election or re-election may send a letter to the committee requesting an endorsement. REPUBLICAN WOMEN TO MEET: Modesto Republican Women Federated will meet Tuesday at The Season, 945 McHenry Ave. Carol Hadley, first vice president of the California Federation Republican Women Central Division, will be the guest speaker. The event will begin with a social period at 11:30 a.m., followed by the meeting and lunch. Lunch is $15 and reservations must be made by Friday. For more information, call 567-3399.

GOP MEETING IN MANTECA: Republicans from Escalon, Lathrop, Manteca, Mountain House, Tracy and Ripon are invited to Chez Shari Restaurant at Manteca Park Golf Course on Tuesday. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with a meet-and-greet, followed by the guest speaker. The theme will be "Remembering 9-11" and "Campaign Kickoff" with county Supervisor Leroy Ornellas, possible Assembly candidates Jack Mobley of Merced and Bill Berryhill of Ceres, Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian, R-Stockton, state Sen.
