NAME: Michael Alvin Anderson

CHARGE: Child endangerment

DESCRIPTION: 40 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 210 pounds, blonde hair, green eyes

THE CASE: Anderson is wanted on suspicion of child endangerment, burglary, hit and run, evading police, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license stemming from a Dec. 29 incident in Modesto.

NOTES: Detectives spotted a suspicious vehicle. The detectives, in unmarked cars, followed until the driver, later identified as Anderson, ran a red light. A chase ensued. Police said the vehicle slowed before it sped off and Anderson's son, 12, was pushed out the passenger door and ran. Anderson also got out and ran, police said. Nobody was injured, and the boy did not appear to have been involved with anything illegal.

WHOM TO CALL: Police ask anyone with information about Anderson's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Tipsters can e-mail tips through the Crime Stoppers Web site, www.modestopolice.com/CrimeStoppers, or text tips to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus a message. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward.
