Police are looking for a man in his 20s with blemished skin who robbed a north Modesto bank Monday afternoon. About 12:45 p.m., the man went into the Wells Fargo bank at Veneman Avenue and Dale Road and demanded money from a teller, said Sgt. Brian Findlen, Modesto police spokesman. The man made threats about having a weapon, but no weapon was seen, Findlen said. He took an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk. The man ran away on Veneman, but managed to elude officers in the area, who responded immediately, Findlen said. The robber was described as having a slim build, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing blue jeans, a black beanie and a gray, puffy jacket. Authorities ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Tipsters can e-mail Crime Stoppers or text tips to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
