LEADS UNCHANGED IN TURLOCK RACE
With all the county's absentee votes counted, Amy Bublak and Mary Jackson continue to hold their leads for two seats on the Turlock City Council. Modesto police officer Bublak now has 8,955 votes, or 25.92 percent and Jackson, a journalism instructor at Merced College, has 8,757 votes, or 25.35 percent. Incumbent Kurt Vander Weide stood 475 votes behind Jackson, with 8,282 votes, or 23.97 percent. County workers still have thousands of provisional ballots to count. Rounding out the Turlock race are candidates David Fransen, with 5,199 votes, or
15.05 percent, Jim Sarnowsky, with 1,916 votes, or 5.55 percent, and Jeff Anderson, who dropped out of the race but remained on the ballot, with 1,353 votes, or 3.92 percent.
