 1  Park music

Enjoy the final show of the First Fridays in the Park series from the Murphys Community Club. The family event features music from Blue Shoes and Tin Pan Alley. Food is available for purchase along with local wines, beer and other beverages, with proceeds going to help the club maintain the park. People also are welcome to bring their own picnics.

Modesto Tango brings back Buenos Aires tango master Hugo "Gato" Valdez and partner Andrea Monti for a milonga. The pair began dancing together 10 years ago. Valdez has appeared in "Evita" and "Tango Lesson." The duo also offers workshops for various skill levels Saturday. Call for details.

Finnish vocal group Rajaton performs ABBA hits with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra at its season-opening Picnic at the Pops concert. Rajaton sings hits including "Mamma Mia," "Waterloo," "Dancing Queen" and "Take a Chance on Me." The concert ends with a fireworks show.

Support the ninth annual Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation Fun Fall Festival. The theme this year is "Passport to Paradise," with area chefs providing international cuisine and desserts. Take a trip to the dark side of the moon as House of Floyd brings the music of Pink Floyd to Newman. The group pays tribute to Floyd though its note-for-note performances of the iconic band's sound, as well as light and video shows. The concert includes lasers, strobes, a fog machine and giant floating pig.
