Those who support the measure that would raise money for Oak Valley Hospital will find out tonight if their efforts worked.
The deadline to return ballots for Measure Q, a $27 million bond measure, is 8 p.m.
Votes will be counted after that. Participation in the mail-in ballot has been relatively high. As of Friday, the Stanislaus County election office had received 7,750 ballots for Measure Q, said County Clerk Lee Lundrigan.
That's about 18 percent more than the number of voters who weighed in on an identical measure in April. That effort, Measure O, failed by less than 1 percent. Results will be posted at www.modbee.com as soon as they are available.
