Modesto

CARWASH AND DRIVE-THROUGH HAMBURGER LUNCH

When: Today, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Donation $5.

Where: Circle K Gas Station, 1640 N. Carpenter Road.

Info: Get your car washed and pick up a hamburger lunch. Proceeds will go toward equipment and uniforms for Modesto 49ers Youth Football.

RUBBER SIDEWALK UNVEILED

When: Tuesday, 10:30 a.m.

Where: Plaza Parkway

Info: Modesto will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new rubber sidewalk. Mayor Jim Ridenour will be on hand to speak about the project. One passenger tire is recycled into one square foot of material. Modesto purchased 10,100 square feet of product with a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
