The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday:

Expanded the boundaries of the Salida Municipal Advisory Council to include the Salida Community Plan adopted by the board a year ago. The advisory council acts as a liaison between the community and the county, raising residents' concerns and providing a forum for them to communicate with county officials. The Salida Community Plan is a 3,383-acre proposed residential, commercial and industrial development to the north, east and west of Salida. Vote: unanimous, consent calendar

Accepted a donation of $20,946 from the Simon Family Criminal Justice Foundation for turf for the physical fitness track at the Ray Simon Regional Criminal Justice Training Center. Sheriff Adam Christianson thanked the Simon family for its support of the training center and invited supervisors to visit the facility. "I'm very proud of what we have accomplished," he said. Vote: unanimous

Approved a report on efforts to improve the county's infrastructure, including documenting the county's water resources, formulating a strategy for road maintenance, expanding sewer service into unincorporated areas and analyzing the recycling potential for landfill waste. Vote: unanimous

Approved a report on efforts to improve the efficiency of public services, including customer satisfaction surveys, a redesigned county Web site and an online system for county residents to raise issues or comment on county departments. Vote: unanimous

Approved spending $11.78 million to pay off waste-to-energy project bonds early. The money is from the county's Waste-to-Energy Fund.

The early bond payoff will save the county $770,000 to $1.5 million because of rising bond interest rates, according to a staff report.

Vote: unanimous, consent calendar

Authorized an application for a $50,000 grant from the Stewardship Council for a learn-to-swim program at the Empire Community Pool. The pool project is expected to break ground in the fall and be completed in the spring. Vote: unanimous, consent calendar
