TEACHING PARENTS AND TEENS TO COMMUNICATE

Info: "NewStart" is a free, 12-week program geared toward building communication between parents and teens. The goal is to reach teens before they get into trouble, and to help parents deal with difficult situations. The program employs Modesto police officers and includes presentations from the Probation Department and a trip to the Straight Life Program at Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy. Provided through the Parent Link Ministry of First Baptist Church, the course is open to all. Apply before Aug. 23.
