WALGREENS TAKE CARE HEALTH TOUR

When: Friday and Saturday, 1-7 p.m.

Info: Offering six free health screenings: bone density, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, waist circumference and body mass analysis. No appointment is necessary, results are immediate, and takes about 20-25 minutes.

MONTHLY LEGAL MEETING

KIDWATCH

When: July 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: 700 McHenry Ave.

Info: The course is designed to train youth who are caring for younger children. Students will learn how to recognize and handle emergencies, basic first aid and CPR, and personal, water and fire safety. Other topics will include basic infant care, appropriate activities for different age groups and behavior management. Fee is $40, and participants must be at least 11 years old. COMMUNITY EDUCATION TRIPS

HOST FAMILIES SOUGHT

Where: Host families must live within the Modesto's MAX bus system

Info: Modesto Junior College is seeking host families interested in housing an international student for a year. The students will be studying agribusiness for two years, with an emphasis on export, and host families are needed for the first year. Students from the Cooperative Association of States for Scholarship are ages 18 to 24, and come from El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua.
