Watch your toes

The Ballroom Dance Club will get into the swing of things June 20 at the Senior Citizens Center, 211 Bodem St., Modesto. The event will be 8-11 p.m, with a dance lesson 6:45-7:45 p.m. The cost is $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers. Dance instruction is $1 with paid admission. 75 YEARS AGO: In observance of Flag Day, the Woman's Relief Corps dedicated a tree in GAR Park in Turlock in memory of the late Col. T.L. Haines, former member of Turlock Post, Grand Army of the Republic.

25 YEARS AGO: H.R. "Dick" Knowles, principal of Standiford Elementary School in Modesto, announced his retirement after 29 years of service in the Sylvan Union School District.
