The Modesto City Council on Tuesday is scheduled to vote on:

Modifying the development agreement that details how the city and Kaiser Permanente should install public improvements around Kaiser's Dale Road hospital. The changes adjust deadlines for traffic improvements, generally delaying them to reflect Kaiser's progress in moving into the new building.

Accepting a $1 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration. The city plans to use the money to design runway improvements and to buy a 1,500-gallon aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle.

Excluding City Council members from participating in the California Public Employees' Retirement System. Council members are eligible to participate in CalPERS, but none do.

Signing off on an agreement with Modesto City Schools that would pay half of the salaries for eight police officers who work in city high schools and junior high schools. The $449,295 agreement represents a reduction from this year. Nine officers worked in schools this year.

Buying $323,533 worth of equipment from Salt Lake City- based WesTech Engineering for a phase of Modesto's sewer treatment plant improvements.

Approving Modesto's 2008-09 budget. The vote would ratify the council's June 3 decision to adopt a $290.5 million spending plan.

Adopting a 2008-09 budget for the Modesto Redevelopment Agency. The agency anticipates collecting $6.5 million in property tax revenue and $510,550 in other revenue. The agency plans to spend $3.2 million to pay down debt and $270,000 on outside contracts. Other revenue will go toward redevelopment projects.

The Modesto City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. in the basement chambers of Tenth Street Place, 1010 10th St.
