Someone to provide help with legal matters

Cassie Sowell needed someone to represent her interests in court.

She got a court appointed special advocate who did that, and so much more.

Her advocate, CASA of Stanislaus Director Steve Ashman, offered guidance and help in a variety of areas.

For instance, when Sowell wanted to change her last name after a bad experience with an adoptive family, Ashman spoke up for her.

“He’s helped me with other things, as well,” Sowell said. Now she is attending school and looking to the future.
