Cleaning burned-out mess in pots
Here's our favorite remedy for any burned food that has dried out in a pan. First, remove all excess food from the pan. Fill the pan with water and heat to a simmer. Remove the pan from the heat, then let it soak about one hour. Wash as usual. We also found this suggestion at eHow.com: Make enough paste with baking powder and water to cover the burned food. Set the pan aside for four hours. Wash as usual.

Kraft dressings get makeover
Kraft has reformulated and repackaged all 50 of its regular and light bottled dressings. Gone are all artificial preservatives, Kraft tells us. The bottle's new, too, made of clear plastic in a hand-fitting shape that the company says takes up less space in the fridge than the old bottles. The new flip-top cap makes overpouring less likely. Kraft has added more "premium" ingredients such as Parmesan and Romano cheese and extra-virgin olive oil to its 12 most popular dressings. Suggested retail is $1.69 for 16 ounces.
