Looking for a unique item to add to your mug collection that can enhance that morning coffee of tea? Try a handmade Healing Stone Mug, crafted by Donna Rollins, a New Hampshire-based potter whose philosophy is that pottery is attractive not just for its beauty, but also for its energy.
During the firing process, she infuses various minerals into the body of the mug and then finishes the mugs with a non-toxic glossy glaze. The mugs come in four different shades, including dark brown, blue, purple or red, and are unique for the stones that are adhered to the top of each handle. These stones are said to be healing stones, serving a purpose akin to "worry stones," according to the creator.
The healing stones are specific to the mug shade, with the purple mug featuring a rose quartz stone on the handle, for example. The rose quartz is reportedly a love stone. The other mugs have either a quartz crystal, tiger's eye or citrine stone on the handle. These small stones can be touched and rubbed or used to help focus a wandering mind in the morning.
Because the mugs are handmade, they may vary slightly in design; they have a 14-ounce capacity and a round base. Keep in mind that since they are hand-made they should be treated with care.
