Sonora High senior presents student follies
Matt Howard, a senior at Sonora High School, is putting on a talent show next week as his senior project. The show will include a variety of acts: a contortionist, a dance crew, a poem recitation, musicians and much more. Other senior projects will be showcased during the follies, including Tony Cota’s “Poreotics Tribute,” which is a dance crew, and a harp performance by Cody Lee. Pataflafla and Jazz@8 also will be featured. Guest performances will include the Brothers Strong, a local folk band and alumni of Sonora High, and Josh Pfeiffer, a professional jazz artist and Summerville alumni. The event will be April 19 at 7 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30. Ticket prices are $5 general, $3 for students and seniors. The event is a fundraiser for Sonora High’s Golden Regiment Band Boosters. This group is responsible for raising funds for uniforms, trips, and equipment for the Golden Regiment, of which Matt is drum major.
