Christiana DeVito of Girl Scout Troop 3396 in Modesto has achieved her Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouts.

In her 12 years as a Girl Scout, Christiana has spent hundreds of hours as a volunteer, not even including her Gold Award service project.

For her Gold Award project, she led a team of volunteers in cleaning, sanding, repairing and repainting wooden picnic tables and benches in the outdoor lunch area at Standiford Elementary School on Tokay Avenue.

Christiana, president of her troop, now is working on her Ambassador Girl Scout community service bar.

The 17-year-old Enochs High School senior is ranked 32nd out of a 528-student class by GPA. She’s been on the track team for four years and also participates in speech and debate.

Christiana is the youngest of Kim and Tony DeVito’s three children. She will attend either Coastal Carolina University or the University of Orlando in the fall.
