Reilly O’Brien, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, accomplished many things during her high school career. Graduating with a 4.6 cumulative GPA, Reilly was valedictorian of her 2013 class. She now attends Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
Throughout high school, her involvement in a variety of activities kept her busy. Reilly played multiple sports: She was on the swim team for two years and on the volleyball team all four years. Her senior year, she was named most valuable player and All League.
Outside of sports, Reilly was an ASB officer all four years and coordinated Pathways, an endeavor through the Center for Human Services that furnishes apartments for young adults. Reilly consistently placed in Science Olympiad competitions and was in Central Catholic’s Interact club.
Reilly was successful in the Catholic Daughters Scholastic Contest. Outside of school, she enjoys art and photography. She competes in photography competitions and has won awards at the regional and state levels. Reilly particularly enjoys shooting nature pictures.
Never miss a local story.
At Lehigh, Reilly plays cub volleyball and is interested in joining a sorority. She chose Lehigh for its mountaintop location and natural environment, as well as the small population of 5,000 to 7,000 students. Now that she is in college, Reilly advises high school students that grades never come easy. “It’s just the beginning; high school is not the end of the road.”
