Question of the Week: Upcoming school year

What are you most looking forward to in the coming school year?

What are you most looking forward to in the coming school year?

Toshali Katyal, junior, Modesto High School: I am looking most forward to becoming an upperclassman at last! I am beyond excited for all the new things and events that will take place, but most importantly, getting my license!

Taylor Menezes, senior, Central Catholic High School: I could go on and on about graduation, grad night, being able to go off campus for lunch, along with all the other perks of being in my last year of high school. But I’m just looking forward to being a senior and knowing that all of my hard work has paid off.

Gabriella Germann, sophomore, Central Valley High School: Honestly, not much. I guess it will be good to see everyone again, and I am looking forward to being Central Valley FFA Sentinel!

Dominique Germann, freshman, Modesto Junior College: Besides my ag econ class, the freedom of being in control of my schedule and how I get through college.

Martin Cepeda, sophomore, Pitman High School: I’m most looking forward to having a new school year that hopefully comes with great new experiences. Freshman year was definitely fun, but I have a feeling this coming sophomore year is going to be even better!

Shelby Sutter, junior, Enochs High School: I am looking forward to my AP U.S. quiz on the first day of school! (Not really.)

Emily Hoeksema, graduate, Ripon Christian High School: I’m most looking forward to going to college in a different state (Georgia) and experiencing the excitement of making new friends and figuring out the completely different Southern culture. Aug. 23 or bust!

Mark Borges, sophomore, Hughson High School: Well, I am just super-excited for the long hours of homework, stressful commitments and the symbolic feeling of scraping a cheese grater across my face every night (sarcasm). I guess if anything, I’d have to say I really like watching myself grow as a person with the experiences I gain each day, especially in school.

Tommy Tran, junior, Gregori High School: I am most looking forward to having home football games at our new Gregori stadium.
