Volunteers for special events
Per person rider fee is $35 at preregistration or $40 after June 11 and can be purchased online. Truck show entrance fees are $40 per person before June 11 and $50 after. Fee includes a commemorative T-shirt, run pin, poker hand, food and drink. Bikers, car enthusiasts and truckers are invited to raise funds for Community Hospice and Hospice of San Joaquin. Individuals and businesses are also invited to become sponsors.
Volunteers will receive an orientation from 9 to 10 a.m., help with setup, interact with their buddies from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and assist with cleanup. Experience working around farm animals is helpful but not necessary. All volunteers must complete an application, and volunteers over age 18 must pass a background check. Volunteers are needed for this program, which will take place at the Jim & Patti Sanchez Farms in Oakdale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ongoing volunteer positions
There is a $10 cost for training materials, but the fee can be waived if requested.
Volunteers must pass a background check, pass the Outreach and Education Training with an 80 percent or higher grade, be reliable and on time, have reliable transportation, be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and must be able to be outside in hot and cold environments. Stipends are available.
