'A CHORUS LINE' PREVIEW

Get ready for the July 12 opening of Modesto Performing Arts' stage production of "A Chorus Line" at Modesto High by seeing "Every Little Step" -- a documentary on the Tony Award-winning musical. The movie chronicles the arduous process of selecting dancers from more than 3,000 hopefuls for the 2006 Broadway revival. It also covers the creation of the original show in 1975 and the genius of the late Michael Bennett, who put it together. Showings, at the State Theatre, are at 3:30 and 7 p.m. today, 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Call 527-4697.

THE SOUNDS OF A NATION

You can get into the patriotic spirit tonight by attending An All-American Music Show at the Gallo Center for the Arts (Foster Theater). Performers are the Michelle Richardson Band (jazz, blues) and the River Lights Chorus (barbershop). Show is at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15-$35 at the door. Call 338-2100.
