A full-scale replica of the Jewish Tabernacle will be on display Saturday through Sept. 27 at Shelter Cove Community Church, 4242 Coffee Road, Modesto.

"The Tabernacle Experience," brought to Modesto in 2002 by Calvary Chapel, is an interactive journey that leads people from the outer courts where animals were sacrificed to the Holy of Holies, where one Jewish priest, chosen by lot, entered once a year to make atonement for the people of God. It is where the ark of the covenant, which held the Ten Commandments, was kept.

The experience is narrated and also personal — individuals and families take turns moving through the display at their own pace.

It will be open weekdays from 2 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more about the exhibit, visit www.tabernacle experience.com. For church information, call 567-3200.
